IN UK, Fully Formed Frogs Appearing Weeks Ahead Of Normal - Temps 16F Above Historic Averages
NATURE is springing its surprises as Britain basks in another spell of sizzling sunshine. Legions of tiny frogs have been spotted among colourful flowerbeds across the UK. The pond-dwellers have rushed through the tadpole stage to become fully formed many weeks earlier than any previous year.

The unseasonably hot weather has also brought a bonus for visitors to parks and lakes as hordes of ducklings take their first tentative paddle out on the pond.

Over the weekend a kaleidoscope of colour warmed the hearts of nature lovers as flowers burst into bloom weeks before they were expected. The same gardeners were buzzed by wasps and bumble bees not usually spotted before June.

EDIT

April could still prove to be the warmest and driest since 1949. Bookmakers have slashed the odds on temperatures reaching 100F (38C) later this year to 3-1. As thermometers rose to 73F (23C), 16F above average for this time of year, chemists struggled to cope with the rush for suntan lotion. However, forecasters say one tradition is set to arrive this week when April showers interrupt the latest heatwave.

2. Parts of the country
got some rain today, but it looks like the south east (usually the last to get rain, though also the most densely populated and water-proflifate) will stay dry and hot all month. May doesn't look promising either, unless all you want is heat and drought.
