Windmill, Wave Energy to Power Desalination Plant? (Cape May, NJ)
http://www.capemaycountyherald.com/article/articles/2930/1/Windmill,-Wave-Energy-to-Power-Desal-Plant%3F

CAPE MAY: (2.18) The city spends $457,000 per year on electric bills and nearly half that amount, $221,000, is used to power the city’s desalination plant for drinking water.

Could the city produce electricity with a windmill or wave energy machine to power the desal plant?

Committee Chairwoman Charlotte Todd was involved with research to build the desal plant. She said the plant was the only logical way to solve the city’s drinking water problem.

Todd said it was also possible to combine wind and solar power. It is called “combined cycle, she said.

1. Interesting. I have a house near there in Avalon and..............
I never realized they had a desalination plant. I would love to see them take the initiative and invest in alternative power.
On a side note, I am developing a new fluid filtration unit for the wind turbine industry. The prototype drawings are almost finished by the engineering firm I hired and I should be able to start building the prototype in a couple of weeks. It looks like it will be an interesting new market for my company.
