Cherry trees blooming in Maryland
It was 70 degrees today, and on the way home I saw cherry trees blooming in Redland Park in Derwood. Once in a while these trees will have a fall bloom in October, but I have never seen them flowering on December 18. This is bizarre.

:wow:

Derwood is between Rockville and Gaithersburg, northwest of Washington DC.

1. Will Have to Keep an Eye Out for That
I'm in Beltsville/Silver Spring and haven't noticed it. But it's certainly been unseasonably warm.

2. Buds On Forsythia
I'm in Laurel, and I've got buds on my forsythia bush.

If you think our weather is bad, you should read about what's happening in Switzerland. Flowers that don't usually bloom until April are blooming NOW.

But, there's no such thing as global warming. Move along, move along.

4. Wow!
A news report on TV showed lilacs blooming in an elderly lady's back yard here in Minnesota -- the coldest state in the lower 48!
