Bush LAYING OFF renewable energy researchers!?!

"The Energy Department will begin laying off researchers at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in the next week or two because of cuts to its budget.

A veteran researcher said the staff had been told that the cuts would be concentrated among researchers in wind and biomass, which includes ethanol. Those are two of the technologies that Mr. Bush cited on Tuesday night as holding the promise to replace part of the nation's oil imports. "

This is ridiculous.

1. par for the course
Remember, whenever chimp boy says something that sounds reasonable and good, expect the opposite. Just think about "No Child Left Behind", or his AIDS promises, or the medicare debacle, or reconstructing IRAQ and New Orleans. One could go on and on...

2. Exactly
Exactly the opposite of what is said. And then expect him to crow about his "success"...

I especially like how he keeps saying we didn't choose this war. Riiiiight.

3. Exactly!
As Molly Ivans always says; "Pay attention to what Chimpy DOES, not what he says." the Idiot-in-chief is a serial LIAR.

5. It would be ridiculous...
even if he hadn't said a word about it. And, of course, Elizabeth Bumiller buries that very important bit of news at the tail end of the piece. :eyes:

4. John Kerry warned Katie Couric of this very thing when she asked
if the Democrats would work with Bush after that SOTU speech. Kerry told her that what he says in the SOTU is often undermined but how he implements the policy.

Perfect example.

8. Suggest people join me and go to Congress.org and click on Browse Media
Guide. Click on NBC and email NBC network and the TOADIE (Sic) Show and tell the little fascist cheerleader twit (Couric) REPORT THIS.

By the way, it was nice to hear a Neocon talk about being more civil and working in a non-partisan manner(in SoTU) - after twenty years of Dems being beaten up and maligned by vicious personal attacks and a general malignant atmosphere fostered by Neocons like Gingrich (called the IRS auditors "thugs") and Delay ("the exterminator", who even threatened to campaign against the son of one of their own if he didn't back the Medicare deconstruction bill) both of whom approached politics as if it was WAR - and the only rule to that war was "TAKE NO PRISONERS" and after the "K Street Project" it's really nice to here a neo-con talkk about the need for more amity Washington. THis means that the Dems recently have started to put up a little bit of a defense against the general mugging that's been going on.

I say, great. Dems should fight back all the harder. In a knife fight you don't let up or else you get stabbed. Don't let up Dems - take it up a notch (sp?) and fight harder. And tell Couric as soon as the Republicans act like they are ready to stop the war (such as by letting Dems into Conference committee's and haveing some input to legislation) then the Dems will respond accordingly.
