New, aesthetically pleasing WIND TURBINE for use in urban settings.

I just heard about this new turbine and would like to get DUer's opinion, as I'm not sure
how to evaluate wind turbines. It seems this one is reliant on existing electric wiring
and infrastructure, but if I understood the info right, I think it could also be used in
more rural situations (where it would probably have to have its own infrastructure constructed).
Would one of these (perhaps supplemented with solar panels) be more than is need for a single
average home? I just don't know how you figure it out.

What is the best, quietest and most efficient type or wind turbine for a single, otherwise offgrid home?

3. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
In this case, I suspect that the neighbors won't like it.

On another note: I've seldom seen as badly written a website as that one. It's going to be hard to drum up investors unless the owner gets that fixed. It's hard to sell bad grammar.

when bad grammar is so prominent, it does reflect poorly on his business smarts.

6. What it tells me is that the operation isn't professional.
It doesn't cost that much to have someone write a decent website for you. If you don't bother with that, I assume you aren't bothering with quality, and quality is important in wind power stuff. Oh, well. He'll find something else to do when this venture goes under.

8. Wow, I like the look of those too. Hadn't seen them before. I'll have to read up on how they work.
I can't tell by looking at them. And it looks like it might take several of them together to generate enough electricity. I was hoping someone would know how to determine the wind power
that the one I posted would generate, or what information you would need to know that.

9. Yes, I thought so too. I much prefer the look of it to the usual bladed turbine.

I mean, why CAN'T a wind turbine be art too?

10. At least somebody is paying attention to the importance of beauty.
You've got to remember those bucolic paintings of Holland, nobody thought those windmills were ugly. Beauty should be a part of the functional aspects of our lives, we must integrate it with all levels with out technology.

11. The fact that they don't post specs is not encouraging
nor is the complexity of the design.

12. The top is pretty....
...the green frame and hideous stainless steel box beneath it are not. It looks like it was designed by two different people.
