More Oil Needed - The Irony of Nearly $1 Billion in Investments For Carbon Capture and Storage
Great article exploring whether Carbon Capture and Storage is just an excuse for continued development and use of fossil fuels.

In the United States three industrial carbon capture and storage (CSS) projects have been chosen to receive up to US$612 million in Recovery Act funding, which will also be matched by up to $368 million of private investment.

However, whatever remedial benefits (if any) from the CSS projects are quickly circumvented by what the stored CO2 will be used for: to recover more oil. This seems to be par for the course when considering carbon storage these days.
