1. OMG - 5,000 square MILES!!
.
.
.

ok I exaggerated by 78 square miles

"The COSMO-SkyMed radar image taken yesterday is somewhat ominous - it shows nearly all of the slick from the ongoing Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and at 4,922 square miles (12,748 km2) it's significantly larger than it appeared on May 13."

What the heck is gonna happen when hurricanes start kicking this thing onshore/inland?

Isn't hurricane season about to start down there??

2. Seems as though that's the visible portion of the slick
what's underneath in columns of water at various depths -no one really knows.

4. Even if "they" did know I doubt they would be honest with us
.
.
.

This will be downplayed until the shit hits the fan

as in all the local industries suffer financial loss from fishing, tourism, etc.,

sad that it all boils down to the almighty dollar -

but I'm afraid and believe that nothing much will be done until the big money people start losing $$$

create a trillion dollar disaster, fine them a few million

what's to stop the corporate elite from continuing?

BILLIONS of dollars in profits

a few million or 100 millions of dollars in penalties/fines taxes

hey

If I can rob a bank for a trillion dollas

and get a billion dollar fine

I'm still winning,

right?

and there are SO many government people taking support money from the OIL GANG that the OIL GANG can't lose!!

The "robber baron" mentality never seems to have vacated the rich.

fuck the poor

(sigh)
