Google's new formula for energy independence
Google lays out a plan to make renewable energy cheaper than coal.

<snip>

The Clean Energy 2030 report also dives into the conversion of our transportation fleet to renewable fuels.

So if you want to know what the smartest people on the planet are thinking about our renewable energy future, I highly recommend reading through the report. Somehow hearing it from Google, whose track record proves that achieving the impossible is, well entirely possible, adds a level of reality and executability to what for so long has been merely hypothetical.

1. A while back
google bought something like 800 acres of our local industrial park and built a data center, that was not put into use upon completion, btw, and at the time they were saying that they planned to have something, something meaning manufacturing of some sort, going on each of the 8 one hundred acres. A lot of talk at the time by them of alternate energy. I guess in time we'll see what happens there.
