Do you support or oppose the following items that might be on the agenda of the new Congress?

Support Oppose

Energy reform to emphasize more conservation by consumers and to encourage more innovation by energy producers for alternative sources of energy 91% 9%

Energy reform to allow companies the ability to drill for oil in certain areas such as the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) to decrease our reliance on foreign oil 53% 47%

2. Polls like this are so pointless....
people always respond in an enlightened and virtous manner, than do exactly the opposite in their lives.

I think more than 91% of the people were bitching and moaning about high gas prices. Even Kerry, who has a great enviro record, felt the pressure and said Bush should pressure OPEC to pump more oil. Where was the outcry of this 91%? Simple, there was no outcry, because these people only support conservation by consumers (i.e. them) in the hypothetical.

I would love to see how many of these people drive SUVs all day on paved roads, don't recycle anything, and don't ever consider buying enviro friendly products.
