Waterfront a 'venue for vicious blood sport' - South Africa
Cape Town's prime tourist spot, the V&A Waterfront, has become a venue for vicious blood sport as dog owners take their animals there to hunt and kill stray cats.

The hunts take place in full view of tourists in the parking area in front of the palatial Table Bay Hotel.

The dogs savage stray or feral cats - domestic cats that have become wild.

Last year poisoned meatballs were used to wipe out a colony of feral cats at the Waterfront. Now the cats are being hunted by dogs, apparently taken there by their owners specifically for that purpose.
