Anyone notice the T. Boone Pickens t.v. ad played just after the debates?
It said something to the effect of, 'come to my website to discuss what was said and NOT said about our policies'.

1. It also played before the debate
Personally I think there is a personal agenda with this guy and his friend that does the natural gas ad. I am not sure this is about what is good for us or US

3. personal agenda?
If by personal agenda you mean T. Boone thinks there's a buck for him to make, we'll sure.

Hey, I don't like the guy but I'm encouraged that capitalist bastards like this are starting to see that alternative energy could actually make them a profit. Only when alternative energy is seen as potentially profitable by guys like Pickens will you see change. Or does everyone think the solar energy bunny and the wind power fairy are going to just drop this stuff on us without anyone making a buck.

5. Sorry, you put words into my mouth. I did not say I was against
wind generators. That would be QUITE the contrary for me. But, if you think ol' t-bone isn't looking at this as the next big energy game then that's delusional. He's wants a huge market share and he'll want tax saving incentives to bring it to us! The man is a manipulator.....and he's only concerned with what's in it for himself=personal gain.

6. What I fear is that whenthose who get control of alternative energy sources
we'll be once again screwed. We'll be paying for them to develop these 'sources' into a profit for themselves (privatization). They've already got the nation's oil. Luckily, we can install wind generators, water collection systems and solar panels....screw t-bone. I refuse to be part of another energy monopoly. The power companies can pay us for the energy we collect.

7. That is a prescription for business as usual.
If you want wind to be developed, you need to support large scale wind because that is the only way it is even close to being cost effective. It is major undertaking to get the hub of a wind turbine 250' into the air where there is enough wind to make it worthwhile. Home wind systems usually don't produce enough energy to justify their existence.

Solar is more compatible with home systems, but you still need to tap large scale wind to make the entire system work without coal.
