Anybody have experience with these? It seems like a good idea, although I'm not quite following their argument about layers and dust. Layers underneath might be reflective, but then again they would be reflecting heat right into the top layer, which would reflect it right back again...

Or, maybe it all works just like they say it does, and I'm just a rube.

Chips seem like a way to take advantage of radiant barriers in existing homes,placing it in the attic is a drop-in way to produce a barrier.Radiant barrier panels do the same thing and seem to use less resources since all those shreds would have a larger surface area than a sheet.http://www.gp.com/build/product.aspx?pname=Plytanium%20Radiant%20Barrier&pid=1398&hierarchy=pc I wonder if this dust theory relates to cooking with aluminum foil,shiny or dull side out? Home buyers are buying "home" and builders do not "waste" money on geothermal heatpumps or radiant barriers,people also do not buy cars like they were transportation toasters with efficiency in mind,it is that new car smell and curb appeal.
