Coconut powered jumbo jet
Jumbo-jet burns coconuts to fly
Mon, 25 Feb 2008 05:02:36

A Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747 jumbo jet, carrying bio-fuels mixed with kerosene has made the short trip between London and Amsterdam.

Head of Virgin Atlantic Airlines, Sir Richard Branson said the flight marked a 'vital breakthrough' for the entire airline industry.

The commercial flight used fuel from a mixture of Brazilian babassu nuts and coconuts.

"This pioneering flight will enable those of us who are serious about reducing our carbon emissions to go on developing the fuels of the future," he said.

5. I prefer using palm oil to Crisco.
Many scratch cooks want substitutes for hydrogenated vegetable fats, and palm oil saved my pie crust. I haven't bought crisco in years.
