FORT MADISON -- The wheel of fortune keeps spinning in Lee County's favor.

Siemens unveiled plans Monday for a huge and rapid-paced expansion to its wind-turbine blade facility that would create 287 jobs paying an average of $17.14 an hour.

The German manufacturing giant wants to add 75,000 square feet of plant space to its current building, build a separate 125,000-square-foot facility and construct a rail yard.

The project, costing $33 million, would be complete by October.
