Retailer converts its Moreno Valley store
MORENO VALLEY - With the flick of a ceremonial switch and cheers from employees, Macy's on Friday converted its Moreno Valley Mall department store to a solar-powered system that the retailer says will reduce its stores' energy consumption 40 percent.
The store is the second Southern California conversion done by Macy's, following a September changeover of its Westminster location. By August 2008, it plans 26 more energy-saving conversions in California, including changes at its two stores in Temecula.
