Is it a car..is it a plane?

Chief operating officer, Anna Mracek Dietrich, said: "It will take just a few seconds to transform and will be fully automated after the command is given in the cockpit. We're currently sold out for at least the first year, approaching the first two of production".

The prototype, which runs on super unleaded petrol, cruises at 120mph and lands at 65mph.

The estimated hourly fuel burn of four gallons equates to 30mpg in flight.

1. So all the cellphone-yakking...
...burger-inhaling, Slurpee-sucking, makeup-using, child-scolding, newspaper-reading cretins who currently make our roads such a delight will soon be airborne?

I can hardly wait.

2. People can't friggin' drive on the ground
It's stupid to put 'em in the air too. I watched a crackup right in front of me yesterday because someone did something stupid.

4. Is anybody else pissed off about cell phone users?
I can just tell that they make last minute decisions in traffic because they are distracted. Someone is going to get run over "by accident". Makes me want to put a jamming pod on my roof.

5. I had one of the "Cell-Phone-Heads" almost run me off the road...
...the other day.
She was talking on the phone, drinking coffee, messing with her hair and "Trying" to drive.

:eyes: (not to pick on women...Men are just as bad)

11. Talking on the phone while driving
is going to be illegal next year in California, for anything other than a hands-free set.

I'm in favor. :)

12. That would enable them to use the turn signal at least but they would still be distracted.
I find the woman sitting next me to be distracting. It led to an interesting end of a conversation when we were driving through Omaha and I told her I purposely was not listening.

7. That looks to be about ...
HO scale ... and made of Legos.

I'm not convinced there is any such thing (similar to the Lego prototype shown).
I agree with an earlier poster. Why the hell do you want some of the idiots on the road taking to the air.

Cheers
Drifter

8. Of course, when a motorized vehicle leaves the ground, it becomes an aircraft
requiring a pilot's license and communication with the control tower, not with your spouse or teen on the cellphone.

9. Runs on super unleaded petrol...
In other words, it burns lots of carbon....

...and when it crashes, it falls on someone's house.

No thank you.
