Journal entry November 3rd 2019...
Cool. Got some rain. Barrels are at least filled. We start harvest in 2 weeks. It will be nice to have that change.

Sad. Really sad. So many things have happened.

I find it hard to write about these things sometimes.

Jorge, my friend, is gone. He had to leave. His house was one that was tagged by the State guys. He was broke, no money. Couldn't pay. We all presented him with enough money to cover his back taxes. But there was another problem we didn't know about. He had been living in the U.S for just about all of his life, since he was 3, illegally. Connie and I offered to keep him and his family hidden in our home. So did Bob down the block. We all stood there speechless when Jorge said no. He didn't want us to disappear. It was so hard. Not only a loss for me as a friend but a giant loss for our community.

So many families packing up and going. A few left on principal of not wanting to pay into a failed system that does nothing for the people. Others left out of fear. So many people. Our once thriving community is falling apart.

I found out what "garden plot" is. Dave picked up the info from an operator out of Canada. It's an "operation" which allows the army and the national guard to use force against U.S. citizens in the event that the citizens become...distruptive. This explains Denver and the other cities.

This also makes me think the whole tax thing was a front.

The classes we started having, had been going well. I can fire a pistol and a rifle now. So can Connie. She's not thrilled by it, but understands.

It's going to be hard to harvest with the people we have left but I guess in one way we will have more food to go around.

Damn, it just feels like the wind has been knocked out of me.

We all got yet another notice from the army, stating that everyone is to be finger printed and retina scanned next week.

I just don't get it. We are a peaceful thriving community. At least we were anyway. Why bother us?

In two of the root cellars, we all have put together, quick leave sacks. Food, water tablets(those were hard to get from the black market), dry goods, emergency stuff basically.

Oregon and Washington state have filed for secession. Northern California is thinking of joining them. I'm thinking of talking to Connie and her daughter about trying to make it up there.

Pretty much from the south of San Antonio into Mexico is a no fly zone. Apparently, the rebels have set up a "temporary" government of sorts. Most of the Mexican states have their own ideas about that. Mexico City is suppose to resemble Tehran. :(

The lower part of Manhattan has been evacuated. Ferry service to Long Island has been discontinued.

Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire are in talks with Canada.

Washington seems to be about 2 steps behind the curve. Only reacting and not planning.

Huge sections of Denmark have been flooded. Norway and Finland have sent help but they have problems of their own with flooding.

The London tubes are no longer operational due to flooding.

Rome and Naples have reported scores of bodies in the streets because of Cholera.

China has pushed into Cambodia.

I'm just a bit depressed by recent events.

Times up...
