Michelin axes jobs and recruits at same time
006 under a draft program which also allows for the recruitment of as many people, a company spokeswoman said on Friday.

The jobs would be lost through the departure of people for retirement or by means of early retirement.

She told AFP: "Michelin is taking the opportunity of the departure for retirement or early retirement on a voluntary basis of 6 000 people between 2004 and 2006 ... to adapt the workforce to its requirements."

1. Corporations do not want older employees.
It's a lot easier to work young people like rented mules and health care costs are less.

AND IF YOU FIRE PEOPLE BEFORE THEY ARE 40 YEARS OLD, AGE DISCRIMINATION LAWS DO NOT APPLY.
