Some happy news for a change - Chocolate Bars could save You!
http://www.dailywealth.com/

Lead story is how chocolate has beat out gold as an inflation hedge.

Of course, this is somewhat tongue in cheek, I imagine. For example, if you bought a bar of gold bullion in the thirites, it would still be gold, while a chocolate bar from the thirties would be a tad bit stale, and probablly not resemble more than a bunch of dried out crumbs, I imagine. And probably not too desriable as anything. (Unless the chocoalate bar's wrapper had a historical value.)

Hard for me to say - we have never had too many chocolate bars that survived more than a week in our presence.

1. I LOVE chocolate! I eat a lot of it when I'm anxious.
I can tell I'm upset by how much chocolate I crave and eat. I thought it would get better after the '08 election. Boy, was I dumb.

2. Chocolate is about the only thing keeping me from going postal these days
so it may have saved a lot more than just me ;)

4. Care for a shot of Nutella, my friend?
;)

Thinking of making a tee shirt: "The only thing between you and a good thrashing is Nutella" but since I can't wear it to work, not much point

5. I like pricey dark chocolate. Found a bar with candied ginger bits in it
that I swooned over last week.

7. Ah, a connoisseur! Might you like to try dark with chili bits?
Chili and chocolate is one of the ways the Aztecs enjoyed the sacred goodie!

9. I have also enjoyed that. A couple different brands do that.
I drew the line at chocolate with black pepper. I forgot where I saw that, or maybe somebody just told me about it. No thanks.

6. Dark chocoate actually has some other health benefits.
Since it is made from plants, it has a large number of antioxidants called flavonoids. It has about 8x the amount found in strawberries.

The only downside is that chocolate needs to be taken in moderation. Probably like most people, I have a bit of a problem with the moderation part. ;)

It's medicine. I know this because Dr. Deepak Chopra said so on Oprah. :D

And thinking about this from an investment perspective, it's better protection than gold because in the event of a serious collapse, it would be as valuable for barter as toilet paper and various and sundry other life necessities that could quickly disappear from the supermarket shelves. It probably would beat even ciggies. Perhaps one of the most valuable bartering items out there....:D
