1. Who says it isn't working? How do they know? It's only been a few months.
It took Bush/Cheney longer than that to destroy the economy.

And Sick Rantelli can kiss my ass.

5. The VIX is up and the insiders are selling.

Commodities have fell dramatically. etc etc.......

The stimulus needed to be twice it's size and they knew that from the beginning. But they don't care about anything but themselves so they whipped up the tea baggers and here we are about to go back DOWN!

Not that I care. It was a jobless recovery anyway!

2. Actually, it is, sorta ...

... as much as it can be at the moment.

But, the package wasn't big enough, as many notable people kept saying at the time it was being pushed through.

Obama is experiencing the same problem FDR had. He asked for one thing, which wasn't enough, got another thing, which was even less than not enough, and then got criticized for not doing enough.

I'm just hoping he can avoid the continued problem FDR faced. As things finally start to stabilize over the long haul, it is claimed that nothing he did helped anything since no immediate results were clear, and what he had done was now oppressive, so let's drop it all and reduce spending even more. So, he did that, and everything got worse again, and he was blamed for it.

4. Saying it isn't working might be a ploy
They might want people to believe that we are in such a dire economic situation that there is no way we can possibly fund a public option in health care reform. I have seen MSNBC using that one poll they did like no other exists to say that we all worry more about the deficit than anything else that has ever been or ever will be, then they manipulate their way into "we can't afford health care". That poll has become their fucking god for the past week. :nuke:

7. Still isn't it a little early?
I would say it is too early to see results in our own economy let alone the entire world. Just a guess but it sounds like CNBC has a point to make.

11. .....or it could be that it never would have worked.
We're paying for the stimulus through pure debt. When you dump $800 billion in Treasury bonds into the market, their interest rates go up. That pushes mortgage rates up, which pushes housing prices down.

In other words, the stimulus is actually making real estate hurt more. And considering the fact that Congress is full of self-preserving blowhards who care most about getting re-elected, it never would have gotten through without a ton of pork. The cure is worse than the disease.

I have no idea what Santelli has to do with any of this, by the way. He went on his rant AFTER the stimulus was passed, and all that came of it were a bunch of Tea Parties.
