Greenspan's Solution; Cut From Those Who Need It the Most.
http://www.opednews.com/sherry022504_slamming_entitlement.htm

Franklin Delano Roosevelt must be turning in his grave. Entitlement programs, hogwash. Medicare, phooey. Medicaid, who the hell cares? After-school programs, let them take care of themselves. Social Security, let ‘em cake. The New Deal is a dead deal, who cares about the little weasels?

According to Federal Reserve guru, Alan Greenspan, who is obviously in touch with the man and woman on the street, in the ghetto, in the old-age home, in the nursing home, living hand to mouth, he proclaims the answer to our financial woes of an overly exuberant and financially-bankrupt administration is to cut from those who need it the most.

Greenspan offered his latest mutterings, not as a spokesperson of the Federal Reserve, as if one could separate the man who wields so much power from his titled position of “Federal Reserve Chairman”. Not one word did he whisper to our billions of dollars to fight a war that should never have been. Not one word did he growl about the tax breaks zealously given to our corporations. The same corporations, by the way, who have tax shelters up the ying yang, off-shore headquarters created solely to exonerate them from our tax-paying laws, and who have de-railed the American worker by importing and exporting cheap labor. Nada. Not a word.

Not a word denouncing how this deficit we, the American people, find ourselves in without any say in the matter, and yet, it is the American public, its very citizens and their promised benefits, Mr. Greenspan claims is the answer to our financial debacle.

1. Greenspan's little announcement
has been the best recruiting tool for getting people to vote Democratic that I've found yet. A local group, Citizens for Political Reform, plans a demonstration/leafleting next weekend at the local courthouse. Suggested signs included "What's Happening to Social Security?"

2. Very simple
raise the top rate by 120,000. dollars and there will be more money than they need to make sure their hated SS stays in good shape. The higher rate of monthly benefits will decrease after $1800. per month. This is bogus and bush put Greenspan up to it. Make no mistake of that. Greenspan is a lackey for the rethugs. Mr big a hole novak said this morning that there was no reason for he and his wife to be collecting their SS checks. But of course they do. Greedy that they are.

3. It is the way of Heaven
to take from those who have much and give to those who have little.

It is the way of man to take from those who have little
and give to those who have much.

4. The candidates shouldn't let another word about anything else come out of.
their mouth (slight exaggeration).

Every Dem should talk about this incessently - if the media say good morning - the answer should be something to do with Social Security.

Everybody is affected by this- I don't care how old you are - even if you are too young to collect yourself - do you really want grandma and grandpa coming to live with you because they can no longer live on their SS.

This is a HUGE issue and so far looks like we are barely mentioning it.

5. Mr. Greenspan, is this your Final Answer?
he's abiding by the Bush-Cheney Revised Bible, as probably is his spouse, Andrea Mitchell in her world ...
