Now, let's try something... Add up the numbers by party.

The chart covers a total of 40 years of Democratic presidencies, and 43 years of Republican presidencies.

Add up the numbers, and we see that 75.82 million jobs total were gained during the 40 years of Democratic presidencies, while 26.09 million jobs were gained during the 43 years of Republican presidencies.

Divide the total by the number of years and we can see the average job growth per year by party (in millions of jobs).

So, we then see that:

Democratic presidencies have created an average of 1.89 million jobs per year.

Republican presidencies have created an average of 0.607 million jobs per year.

That's right: On average, Democratic presidencies create more than THREE TIMES as many new jobs per year than Republican presidencies!
