OK. The economic 'crisis' will be solve by the bailout just like the terror crisis was
solved by the war and

just like the homeland security crisis was solved by the Patriot Act and

just like the war was ended by the '06 election.

In each case, we were sold a bill of goods that drastic, unconsidered, immediate action would save the day.

And damned if it didn't... That great and glorious war sure ended terrorism, didn't it?

We are all certainly safer now, even if it did cost us a little freedom (and convenience).

Ending that damn war by electing all those great Democrats two years ago was the high point of the new century. We can really be thrilled with the way our wishes have been fulfilled.

I cannot wait until the end of next week when my huge investment portfolio doubles in value. Thank God our leaders acted so decisively.

Only minor question I have is... has anyone seen my party? It had a sleep-over at it's friend George's house and now will not come home. It sent me an email saying that it was playing Monopoly and wanted to move into the guest bedroom at George's.

1. The financial crisis is real
George Bush cried wolf too many times in the past, but this thing is for real.

17. Yeah, Lucy. This time I know you won't pull the football away.
Sorry, but these people have zero credibility. And every reason to lie.

12. I was vehemently against the Iraq war
because the facts did not support the need for war and the risk were too great.

The financial crisis is real based on the facts, and something has to be done soon. Just because Bush supports it does not change the facts of the situation.

It's politically luxurious to be in the minority at this time.

It's easier, lazier, more simplistic that way.

16. The bill is about middle America
The economy isn't a zero sum game, and policies that benefit banks and credit markets keep middle America running. It is the same with policies that help redistribute wealth from the rich to the poor. Wall Street and Main Street are interdependent.

It's amazing the number who simplistically process this as this a 'good' vs. 'evil' issue.

.....for the wealthy.

Maybe give each of them $30,000 per month and a 2% COLA every year.
