The real problem with the economy is concentration of wealth
It's that simple. When you have the top 1% earning 22% of the income in this country you are going to have a liquidity problem. When average income declines by over $2,000 in 8 years, you are going to have a liquidity problem. When you have $47 trillion worth of homes and concentrations of wealth not seen in 80 years, you are going to have a liquidity problem.

The solution is simple too. However the "conservatives" have us all cowed by their cries of "socialism". They can't even define socialism, let alone understand that their's is a "socialism" that favors those who don't need any more advantages.

How bad does it have to get before simple reason wins out over their stupid ideology?

1. It's not stupid at all: It works for them - but not for us. As intended.

2. Let the home owners stay in their homes - no matter what
This issue is going to clear out the House and Senate of Democrats in the 2010 election cycle - "Mark My Words"

This is a trap

You can not ask Tax Payers to "Fork Over $700 Billion +" without protecting their most valued asset.

If the S&L Bail Out of the 1980s, Enron Fleecing investors and Utility Rate Payers of 100s of $Billions of dollars, and finally the “Wall St Melt-Down of 2008”, does not serve as a Gospel like Eulogy of the Failed policies of Reagenomics and the Trickle Down Theory – I don’t know what does

3. To Large to Fail..... bad for the economy
the same principle was evident during the age of the Robber Baron. Too much wealth concentrated at the top at the behest of the rest of society is antithetical to Democracy because you enable more power and influence to a few who then influence a government over a the requests of a majority. There needs to be a balance.....

4. Congress has to be afraid of mobs at the gates.

That's how bad it has to get.

That's what happened before we got the New Deal. There were riots.

Those bloated, coddled old boys won't do the right thing until they're forced to.

On edit: this is NOT a call to violence. I hate violence. However, history teaches that violence has been necessary in the past to get those old boys off their comfortably fat asses.
