For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

9. Now?
Wait until Thursday, August 7th, 2008. If my calendar skills didn't fail me, then that will be when the two weeks have passed.

7. I'm betting Wachovia....
or it could be WaMu. I worked at Great Western Financial until WaMu bought it. And every company I have worked for eventually goes out of business. I seem to have that 'je ne c'est que' (I think I have forgotten most of my French) ability to kill Corporations.

I should go work for Monsanto!!!!

8. Don't you people know that the internets are connected to the economy?
Edited on Fri Jul-25-08 04:58 PM by Boojatta
It's all tied together with wires, tubes, feedback loops, and who knows what. Now I've got to decide whether I should

a) intervene in the markets to prevent the insolvency of a major financial institution; or

b) let the recommendations have the predictable effect just so that everyone will know that I wasn't kidding.
:dilemma:

10. I'm bookmarking this, boojatta.
It ought to be worth at least $50 when the corrupt conservative cronies in the next failed bank come looking for somebody to blame other than themselves... ;)

For want of a nail . . . .

You are so right. When banks fail, it is the result of a lot of factors that converge just at a crucial time.

And bank failures have tragic consequences.
