Tax dodge---12 dependants...

ok I did it Tuesday. I walked into finance and jackedup my W4 to 12 dependants and explained to the top guy that, "Yup, I was protesting the tax cut by giving myself my own taxcut."

I'm sick of paying my share of what the rich should be paying instead of me. This democracy is based on capitalism, right? Then, capitalist should pay the freight, because keeping the government (military and police) running is more important to them than to anyone else. If this government fails, what will the poor people lose? A lot less than the rich people. And, if the United States falls, how long before China decides it's time for everyone to do the Asian shuffle. Remember what happened in Cuba?

The more money you have, the more you should pay, because the more money you have the more you have to lose compared to a poor person---so the rich (and corporations) should pay more for the cost of universal healthcare benefits which would spread out health care cost evenly and vacation benefits and paid holidays and unemployement benefits and retirement and it should be spread out amongst all the corporations and the richer you are the more you pay. This will make the poor people happy and all the poor people all over the world a little happier too because:

Also, we should eliminate all import taxes and import fees except for products made by corporations or individuals with financial interest in the United States. AND !!! make sure half the money goes back directly to the underpaid workers who deserve it more than the corporation or individual who is profiting immensely off the underpaid workers sweat.

This (I think) will do more to eliminate terrorism than ANYTHING bush* and co have done to date or anything the whole bush* clan could ever do into the future history of the world,

1. you think the IRS won't notice that?
you might as well just phone them up & tell them you refuse to pay taxes. because they're sure as hell going to catch something like suddenly listing 12 dependents. they have computers my friend, and computers are very good at checking obvious anomolies like that. and then you're busted for fraud as well as failure to pay taxes.

And no one has come knocking on my door yet.

But, I haven't filed a tax return since 1993 so it would be more difficult for them to catch it. You don't have to file if the gov owes you money. I got a letter from the IRS a few years ago saying If I don't file to receive my tax refund within five years the IRS doesn't have to give it tom me.

And don't forget, when you sign a W4 it doesn't say under penalty of fraud, but the IRS TAX REUTRN does.

I think. I can't remember really,

Good luck staying 'anonymous' so to speak.

and am still waiting to hear from them.

Well, it was a 401K cash out, but I assume it's the same kind of thing...

5. i claim 99 exemptions
so zero withholding from my salary.

i got into the habit of doing quarterly estimated taxes back when i was an (hourly) consultant and it never stopped making sense.

i now send in exactly what i need to on the last day of each quarter. i pay no penalty, and i earn the maximum interest on my money. all perfectly legal. you just have to have the discipline to track and NOT SPEND roughly 1/4th of you annual tax liability, and write that check on schedule.

in years where lack of job security warrants it, i figure my tax liability assuming i'll be unemployed the rest of the year, and do my estimated withholdings based on that. if disaster hits, i'm covered and i've parted with as little funds as needed; very important when unemployed. should the employment situation be rosier, i'll owe a penalty for being underwithheld, so obviously i only do this when i think the paying the penalty is worth it for the extra unemployment 'insurance'.
