I only shop at Walmart if absolutely necessary. I'm glad others feel the same way.

1. the illegal workers story surprised me because they already pay
everyone like they were illegal! How low can you go? Maybe that little yellow smiley face should be a pouting face saying "Falling Wages"!

2. Yes.. my wife showed that article to me last night
My feelings about Wal-Mart was well-known to her. This is an outstanding article. I definetely oppose any more Wal-Marts in Denver, since it's already bad enough that we have one on Hampden St, and there's an ongoing discussion for one at the old Villa Italia location at Alameda and Wadsworth. I also know there's an growing opposition of city of Denver PAYING Wal-Mart $12 million in packages to build one. I'd rather see a SuperTarget in that location.

3. I read about the proposed subsidy in Denver for Walmart.

And SuperTarget would be a far better choice. They have better merchandise and fair prices.

I wonder how they treat their employees regarding wages, benefits, and hours.

I like K Mart better than Walmart. Martha Stewart merchandise is quite good.

4. I only frequent Target...
Thank heavens they finally redid the one on Colorado Boulevard-Glendale to a really nice Super Target. It used to be about the seediest place in the area, if not fascinating. One never knew whether they'd encounter a six foot six transvestite shopping for nail polish for their size 13 feet, or a flasher in the hardware department....

If Walmart is what America has come to stand for, heaven help us....
