"The US consumer has kept the economy strong, but can they maintain the current trend? Kasriel has assembled a long list of economic numbers and asks the readers to look at the data and make their own determination on our economic future. He lays out a straight-forward case that on average the US consumer is spending more than they are making, a situation that cannot last for too long. "

1. A lot of those charts show trends that started under Poppy
still worsening under Clinton, then taking a deep dive under Stupid. If anybody needed any more proof that Clinton was a conservative, he needs only look at these charts of how families were actually doing during his tenure.

In fact, the last time families did particularly well was under Carter, oil shocks and all, until he took the drastic measure of approving double digit interest rates at the Fed to slow the double digit inflation that had been killing old folks on fixed incomes. There was a spike during Reagan's tenure, but it was all downhill after those first across the board tax cuts.

The economic policies of BOTH parties over the last 20 years have been dreadful for American families. When people say there is no difference between the two parties, they are essentially correct when it comes to the policies that have been killing them financially.
