Good Loonie = hard times for exporters

Just posted this for those interested in finance and what not.

TORONTO (CP) - The Canadian dollar and its negative impact on exporters will be at the forefront of investor concerns this week, with third-quarter earnings season just around the corner.

The currency suddenly took flight last week, prompted by a renewed wave of selling in the U.S. dollar and encouraged by a much stronger-than-expected September jobless report Friday showing the creation of more than 46,000 jobs even as the unemployment rate stayed even at 8.0 per cent.

1. Bank of Canada did NOT change its interest rate
upsetting some people who had hoped a change in the rate would depress the loonie and help exporters.
