Vitamin SUPPLEMENTS BANNED in US by JUNE 2005
Edited on Mon Mar-14-05 12:46 AM by Robert Oak
Working stealthily BIG PHARMA has rapidly pushed their legislative program (Codex Alimentaris) in Europe that will eliminate the free choice Americans now have to purchase vitamins, herbs, minerals, homeopathic remedies, aminoacids and nutritional supplements. This elimination of all competition for the pharmaceutical industry will produce an enormous increase in the already exorbitant profits earned by the pharmaceutical firms. Of even greater significance the lack of free choice to stay well by taking effective nutritional substances will promptly be followed by a sharp increase in illnesses that will only be treated in the future with pharmaceutical drugs.

4. well
you don't have to delete it.

Snopes has a good discussion on it:

The fact is, the supplement industry is huge. People like to think it's a little mom-and-pop business up against giant pharmaceuticals, but that's not the case. It's a multi-billion dollar industry that has depicted ANY attempt to provide safety and regulation in terms of dosages, ingredients and labeling as an attempt to outlaw supplements.

7. I lived in Europe
enough to drive you crazy...you couldn't even get a Vitamin C
pill in Finland past 100mg. I had to sneak in, by going back
to the US on business trips, all sorts of goods, especially
quality vitamins and in the arctic...man I needed good vitamins.

So, seems to me a couple of things...the dates on some of the posts
I put are in the last few days...so what's the real truth?

Wouldn't be the first time the WTO superceded US laws (no turtle
protection for you...hey that's a barrier to free trade!)

I plain don't trust the government, in bed with the pharmaceutical corporations to "regulate" anything...the same guys who won't let
anyone import drugs from Canada and so on.

There are "bad supplements" and plain dangerous supplements...
but I'd take those risks any day over some Medical doctor
blasting me with the latest drugs being pushed by the pharmaceutical companies.

Well, ok, I'll let the post ride and see what others have to say about it.

Common Ground Canada

Another, maylasian newspaper, letter to editor:
It will - at all costs - use legal means (WTO, Codex Alimentarius, the European Union Food Directive and its connections with government) to suppress freedom of choice for natural medicine and to limit the availability of food supplements.

I dunno, so many one debunk....given the history of pharmacueticals
and the WTO I'll try to hunt for more info, but this looks fairly real to me so far.

10. Support your local health food quack!
Fear and paranoia have worked great for Bush and for deodorant salesmen. The same is working great guns for the hucksters that sell "vitamin supplements" and other garbage. They're hoping you'll stock up on their overpriced, worthless pills as you fear that the stuff will be illegal. Then...surprise! Next year, the stuff will be in the stores, you'll be told your stockpiles are "expired" and you'll be told to go out and buy more of their junk.

12. I'm still pissed about them banning ephedra
I know it's risky to take, but I've never experienced side effects from it. It was the only thing that really helped me lose a lot of weight, and it really keeps you awake too.

We Become Silent: The Last Days of Health Freedom - A documentary

Please watch this video, its important to your health.

http://www.welltv.com

International award-winning filmmaker Kevin P. Miller of Well TV announced the release of a new documentary about the threat to medical freedom of choice. 'We Become Silent: The Last Days of Health Freedom' details the ongoing attempts by multinational pharmaceutical interests and giant food companies — in concert with the WTO, the WHO and others — to limit the public’s access to herbs, vitamins and other therapies.

'We Become Silent’ is narrated by Dame Judi Dench, the noted UK actress who has won multiple Golden Globe awards, an Oscar, and a Tony for her on-stage work, in addition to dozens of other honors throughout her prestigious career.

During the 1990s, the legendary James Earl Jones narrated Miller’s film, ‘Let Truth Be The Bias.’ This hard-hitting film exposed the government's role in a guns-drawn raid at the office of a noted holistic MD, and highlighted the U.S. government’s complicity in suppressing the truth about the effectiveness of alternative/complementary medicines. ‘Truth’ successfully mobilized public support around the Dietary Supplement Health Education Act (DSHEA), which defended U.S. consumers' rights to health alternatives.

“I am releasing a 30 minute version of ‘We Become Silent’ because it is vital to engage the worldwide public about the dangers of CODEX ALIMENTARIUS,” said Miller. “If we don’t defend our health freedoms, they will be lost — and nothing would make the drug companies happier than to have free rein over our health.”

'We Become Silent’ features the only known video from inside a Codex meeting, exclusive interviews with delegates to the Codex Alimentarius Commission, U.S. Food and Drug Administration officials, two U.S. Congressmen, actor Mel Gibson, and more. Consumer activists like Dr. Robert Verkerk of Alliance for Natural Health play a major role in the documentary, as do Julian Whitaker, MD, Dr. Carolyn Dean of Friends of Freedom International, Scott Tips of the National Health Federation, John Hammell of International Advocates for Health Freedom, and many of the best-known health freedom advocates from around the world. 'We Become Silent’ is a powerful statement about the dominance of multinational corporations over personal freedoms, the WTO, Codex, and the challenges consumers face in trying to repel this monolith from their daily lives.
