Here's my proof that we received no tax cut from *
Just received our mortgage evaluation for the next year. Seems our county property tax increased $555 (or 26%), and better yet, our homeowners increased $288 (or 25%), for a total of $843...let's see...we got $600 back, so we're only down $243. Whew, I thought we might come out ahead on this.

1. Hate to Put a Damper On Things....
But the $600 you got back was federal taxes - property taxes are local.

2. Yes, but communities have to pay for schools somehow.
The fed cuts taxes and spending for schools so cities and towns raise property taxes.

7. In Wisconsin, the wingnuts want to force local communities
to freeze property taxes too. It's insane. I guess they're banking on a new system of generous patronage from our wealty corporate overlords. Fucking morons.

3. So, what does that mean?
When the Feds cut money from the states, WHICH THEY HAVE, the states pass on those cuts to US...So, Bush gave tax cuts and trimmed money that would have gone to the states, so the states HAVING TO BALANCE THEIR BUDGETS, passed this on to us in many many ways.

Howard Dean has been explaining this for MONTHS.

ever since the "tax cuts"! A N D, the repercussions are comprehensive and all-encompassing! Better known as the 'bait-cuts and switch-increases'!

Edit: You are so right-on about Howard Dean!

9. Sorry to hear about your taxes
Truthfully its probably just more greedy stupid people needing more of your money to waste. Bush has thrown lots of money at education and its done very little. The problems with education are not funding problems. Unfortunatly our candidates and the media care more about the 4 months Kerry spent in nam 30 years ago and no one addresses the issue.
