Freepers on the Casket Controversy
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1123203/posts?q=1&&page=84#84

It is hard to believe their vitriol.
I guess they call Liberals trolls and PING is some way of rallying their dogs of war? Any one know?

1. I think the PING is the sound of them flicking each other's heads
No, actually it would be more of a "thunk".

3. I Just Couldn't Believe The Hatred...
I knew they had a foaming-at-the-mouth hatred of Clinton, but this is amazing.

4. PING is their emergency response signal to the faithful.
Usually means someone's trying to inject reality into the discussion. Requires massive amount of firepower to overcome it.

6. AH
So that is how they work.

Seems like their firepower consists mostly of cheap personal insults.

5. I had to out shout a colleague
at work today. This brainwashed republibot hands me an e-mail about how Kerry is involved in Heinz overseas companies. He goes on calling Kerry all the same shit he used to call Clinton so I tell him his fuhrer is an idiot and a moron and how chimpy thinks outsourcing is such a swell idea. He got very loud but I got even louder. I won't be shouted down ever again by these freepy brain dead brownshirts. He came very close to a slap across the face.

7. Unbelievable
They hate anything that makes Bush look bad, simple as that. They don't want American's to realize that hundreds of our citizens have died as a result of this conflict. They see those photos as having the potential to make people think that we're losing good men and women in this conflict. That could make people who are usually on their side think "Hmmm- Maybe Bush is making a mistake here..". And THAT'S what they're mad at. That's all they really care about with this photo controversy- how many votes Bush may lose in November due to it.

8. That's Not Why The Photo Was Taken
I mean, if you're liberal that's how you'll see it.

I think the Pentagon has this policy because they think if people see the dead they'll lose support for the war. Remember during Vietnam how they showed all those body bags being tossed around like trash? That was horrible!

And, if some one's son (or daughter) is in Iraq, that person was a young adult during Nam. Then, the media shows those horrible pics of the burned contractors. So, what image must come to mind when they hear their child (and I know it is siblings, spouses, parents, etc)was killed over there? Now they have this one.

9. I Know
I know that's not why the photo was taken. I was just talking about why Republicans are throwing a hissy fit over it- because they are paranoid, in my opinion. The photos were sad, but I thought it was very tastefully done, and a fitting, patriotic way to show some of our soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for what they believed was right.

10. Yes
yet somehow, Tami's husband David still got called a traitor.

I think these photos don't change the mind of anyone who opposed the war. And those who supported the war have not just a right, but a RESPONSIBILITY to see the sad results, to take the "good" with the bad.
