Morning News Shows - do they ever cover news anymore?

Morning News Shows - do they ever cover news anymore?
I haven't really been watching any morning news shows on CBS/NBC/ABC, but lately I've been telecommuting a lot, so I catch some of it. Do they even bother covering news anymore? Or is it just entertainment? I mean right now on CBS they are discussing the new Mummy Ride at Universal, on NBC it's Counting Crows, and on ABC someone else is singing...before that Matt Lauer was discussin Mira Sorvino's age difference with her boyfriend...Are these people for real?

1. It's all entertainment these days
It is as if they want to get rid of the news as fast as possible so we can get the latest elimination of some reality show. It is 15 minutes news and 1.5 hours of fluff.
