Them is CNN. This is important. Forget about the yawning 12-year-old. That's not important. What's important is that the White House is getting away with lying through a major media outlet. Their M.O. has been revealed.

Now here's why it's REALLY IMPORTANT: They screwed David Letterman. DAVID LETTERMAN! One of the most powerful men in America. Seriously, because lots of people learn what to think by watching late night talk shows.

5. there are two key issues, and they are important

The first issue is not in dispute:

CNN reports an untruth as if it were fact with the attention of sparing the president some embarassment. It is more important for CNN to make Bush look good than to report the truth. This is major (or it would be if anyone cared about a free press anymore).

The second issue we still don't have all the facts on:

The White House may be calling CNN and telling them what to say. If true, it's an outrage. Even if false, it means CNN is willing to tell an additional lie to support issue #1.
