March-April 2004: The Date the Media Stopped Liking bushco
It's really amazing. The major media is now giving Rice very low marks. The Aug 6 PDB is key. They are playing this as a not good appearance.

By contrast, they liked Richard Clarke.

The *contrast* between Clarke and Rice is SO clear - the truth-teller and the liar.

And, more and more Dem/anti-bush voices are making the rounds on the news analysis shows. Isikoff and Fineman have turned against the boy king. The 9/11 widows are being called "smart" and "deep" by the same media whores who *were* bush cheerleaders.

The hole they have dug is deep.

Has the worm turned?

praising "our glorious leader".

2. God,I hope so
But isn't it too soon to tell? There have been so many times during the past three years that I've thought, "Everyone will see now what a joke this administration is,", and it's never stuck. You're right, though, the key is the media. With their pack mentality, if one or two jump ship, it may be only a matter of time...

4. they haven't figured out how to help Bush
they desperately want to help him, but like Gephardt said, he's a hard guy to help. But look for them to keep trying, they still have many months before the election.

6. You're right, and I think they were hoping that Rice would hit it out
of the park. But the fact is, she sucked badly today and came off like a total liar.

I expected the media to go into damage control, but when I heard Fineman on O Franken, I turned on the TV. Tweety had the widows on, and it was devastating. And so it went on many of the media shows today.

In addition, Richard Clarke bravely made the rounds of all the talk shows while bushco was busy smearing him. He came off excellently in those shows. And then today, Rice basically confirmed the TRUTH of what Clarke had testified to. I don't expect we'll see Rice doing the talk show rounds - she's beyond rehabilitation.

It's over. Praise Odin, it's over!

5. If it's there, It will be hard to see it now
But it will be obvious looking back a few months from now. If it is true, what moment in time will I think of as the turning point? Richard Clarke's apology...

Corporate America got the bloodletting they wanted in Iraq, control over their oil, and all those yummy non-bid government contracts and appointments of industry executives to regulatory posts.

Now its time to take their loyal public servant-criminals and dump them. Corporations retain their credibility having "done the right thing" by deposing Bush, and they get to keep all our money too.

The betrayal of ordinary Americans hasn't stopped. It's just pausing to shed its skin.

12. She's hardly a reporter. She's a TV personality.
Fineman and Isikoff at least write articles every week that reach more than the minuscule audiences of the cable news networks.

Their still huge whores.

13. Now That The Halo Is Gone, Maybe Journalism Starts
Now that even the corporate media place-holders calling themselves journalists are having their noses rubbed so thoroughly into the inconsistencies and outright failures of the Runnin' Dubya Posse, they're having to realize what First World journalists have known since mid-2001--that the George UU Bush administration has sold the American citizen-voters passels of lies, distortions, and deceptions. Now they're finding that George's and his henchfolk's shortcomings really are news, and that not only the incumbent administration but their own credibility is on the line if they continue to give George Deucey-U Bush more free passes.

Maybe now the corporate media find that investigating this administration might actually turn up something--a lot of somethings--newsworthy.

Of course I've tended to be overly optimistic.
