MP3 of "Chimpy Dance" by the AWOL Cowboys
Give it a listen.

It's got a good beat and is easy to dance to. Featuring the words of the Chimp in Chief.

3. Entertaining, but...
...I don't think out of context quotes will win your friend over.

I've been doing similar work (not quite as funky, though), but I try to keep my quotes in the original context as much as possible. Feel free to burn copies of my tunes (see link in .sig) for your friend as well.

4. The point is to take Bush out of context since that's what he does
No need to win anyone over. Fuck them. This is war.

5. If we have to stoop to his level...
...(i.e. lying, taking quotes out off context, relying on no one checking references) then we've lost.

My theory is that if people hear the truth, they'll want the guy out. Or hung from the nearest flagpole. People will march down Pennsylvania Ave. with pitchforks and torches, and demand that he vacate the premises immediately.

If I remember the last "election" results correctly, there were many states where the margin of victory was less than 10000 votes. If you've been checking the polls recently, you'll see that Bush and Kerry are polling neck and neck. Wouldn't it be nice to see some of the people who voted for Bush last time change their minds? Wouldn't it be better to see some of the people who still think they want Bush change there minds? All I'm saying is that, while entertaining, I don't see out of context merging of unrelated statements acheiving that goal. If you want to fight a war for the white house, we need as many voters as possible on our side.

There's enough truth out there to work with, we don't need to manufacture false statements to prove our points.

6. It's actually meant to be funny
There is no greater joy than to get some Bush soundbites and have it sound like he says "I'm a cold-blooded killer".

7. You're right, BUT
They will do anything, and I do mean anything to keep the truth from getting out. We're seeing that now with the current 9/11 investigation -- they're flat out refusing to participate. It's no coincidence that the two major investigations (9/11 and Iraq evidence) aren't due to finish until AFTER the next election.

As a result, we can't afford to play nice. Playing nice will just let them do what they did to Gore in 2000. It's about time we learned to fight dirty, as they've been doing since Reagan. Fighting dirty will force the right to stop calling the left "weak", "wimpy" and everything else, and if we take that away from them, we've got them beat in the PR department (it's a sad state of affairs in our society when "weak" is a worse fault than "dishonest", but that's another rant). After that, the truth is soon following.
