Does anyone else hate Fox News?

I rarely watch it, because it makes me so angry to see a network so biased while pretending to be "fair and balanced." My sister, also a firm Democrat had never watched it so tonight I watched it with her. It reminded me of exactly why I hate it so much. We watched Hannity and Colmes, where they had a spokesman from the Kerry campaign to talk about Kerry's remarks the other day when he didn't know the microphone was on. Hannity was in a snit, since Kerry said he was speaking about the republican smear team, and named him and Rush Limbaugh as part of that. The spokesman tried to explain it by using the direct quote Fox had displayed earlier in the show, but Hannity refused to listen, continually interrupted him, and threated to kill his microphone if he wouldn't cower down to him. Then later in the show, when speaking to Guiliani, Hannity declared he wanted him to run for senate and take out Hillary Clinton. We report and you decide? What a bunch of crap. My sister was speechless. One of these days when she is ready, I'll see if she can handle Bill O'Reilly. :)

I need a completely objective report, because I don't need journalists thinking for me - or force feeding me info. That's why I choose Fox. Gotta go. . . odd balance, fairly odd balance...oddly 'balanced' well to the right, that is...I saw Hannity pouting and whining, what a putrid, little man.
SO glad Kerry did not back down an inch and did not apologize for his remarks...he should have said it sooner, louder and more often. It's all true.
There was a newswhore on FAUX this morning calling Kerry's comments "clearly incendiary." Oh really? According to whom?? Her?? And who put her in charge of that value judgment...isn't that shaping the news rather than reporting, and isn't that what the 'liberal' media was always accused of doing?? Yikes. You can't take any of that crap seriously; it's all shill and show and shrillness and the joy of being factually unencumbered.

However, sometimes I turn it on. And laugh at it. It's more like the cartoon channel to me now. They are so predictable with their whoring for Bush.

But maybe that's just me. Way back when, I watched the PTL club with Jim and Tammy Faye Baker for comic relief. It was just such a bizarre show.

Oh, wait a minute, my bad - O'Really sucked up to the Shrub* by saying that Shrub* was "misled" by those bad men at the CIA, pointing out that Tenet was a Clinton appointee, so what can you expect? The Shrub* is still golden as far as O'Really is concerned.

17. Personally, I think it sucks out loud, but it's popular for a reason.

You can say what you want about the Fox network. There's a lot to say, and I've said plenty about them. Yet, it's hard to deny that such utter bias, shoddy reporting, and base programming is somehow compelling. Fox is the network that consistently sets low standards....and fails to meet them. They pander to the ugliest and basest emotions in all of us. I hate them, and yet....I can't always look away.

My Grandfather, a man of little formal education but extensive and profound understandings, put it best when he described a similar situation to me. We were discussing the uproar created in our local media (and to some degree, our community) at the prospect of an adult bookstore opening up. After much wailing and gnashing of teeth about the issue had punctuated the coverage in our local newspaper, he snortled at the utter hypocrisy of it all. He said, "the same assholes complaining about it today will be standing in line to get into the place next week." I'm sorry, but it's the truth. Fox is the network of right-wing, conservative values when it comes to news coverage and commentary, but they are smut peddlers and panderers in everything else that they do. WTF?!

Now stop and think about it.....when was the last time that you heard Bill O'Reilly bitch about the secularization of America. Okay -- when was the last time that you heard about him complain of Fox's role in this process? Exactly. NEVER. These people are blind -- either to the glaring contradictions that they propogate or BY their own greed (after all, conflict DOES produce high ratings). Either way, I truly believe that the world (and definitely our own American, democratic part of that world) would be better off without them.

Hey, wait a minute....don't we OWN the airwaves that they operate on? Hmph....maybe something could be done about that after all?!
