Democrats attempt to "derail the president's re-election bid in November"
This quote is in a Yahoo/Reuters article about the "independent" Iraq probe.

"The commission is expected to be given a timeline of next year to report back, instead of this year and having the probe's results emerge as a campaign issue, as Democrat challengers attempt to derail the president's re-election bid in November."

Notice how Democrats aren't running against Bush, they are trying to derail his relelection bid - as if he is entitled to be re-elected, but those angry nasty Democrats are trying to derail our great president.

6. I would change the wording thusly...
The commission is expected to be given a timeline of next year to report back, instead of this year and having the probe's results emerge as a campaign issue, as Republicans attempt to cover up this monumental failure by the Bush White House until after the election is over.

7. Democrats need to learn to master "double-speak" as the pubs do. They
realize the power of words, phrases, innuendo, etc. This is a sly way of spreading propaganda and it works terribly well.

I'm afraid this is one of the things we Dems fail at doing - Realizing the importance of words and phrases.
The quote you just used is an excellent example of that.

Need to be able to point out specific pro-Bush or pro-Rep bias in the media.

11. Re-election?
How can he be re-elected if he was never elected? Don't they mean reappointed?
