I wish the candidates were clearer about reversing the FCC.
When Howard Dean was asked about media consolidation on Hardball, he said he would appoint better FCC commissioners.

When John Kerry was asked about media consolidation by the Hollywood Reporter, he said he would appoint better FCC commissioners.

I wish a candidate would say that he will ask Congress for LEGISLATION which lowers the ownership cap to 35% or lower and bans cross-ownership of cities' newspapers and tv stations.

2. NOW on public tv last night was horrifying. He said only *bush,
Verizon and Rupert Murdoch were in favor of the FCC regulation. Millions of people had sent mail against it and Tom Delay said the request to undo it would be "Dead in the water. Aint gonna happen."

3. I wish someone big would run against Tom Delay
Jim Hightower or Ann Richards or somebody like that should run for Tom Delay's seat. A big-name challenger would get support from around the country.

4. That was Viacom (CBS), not Verizon
Verizon, although regulated by the FCC is a telecommunications company and have nothing to do with the media other than their advertisements.
