CNN, MSNBC, FOX, ABC, CBS, BBC... ok you get the point
Out of all the news outlets (television) which one do you watch and trust most?

Which one do you think is most liberal or fair (if there is such a thing).

My personal pick is CNN... definetly not perfect and liberal but a whole lot better than what's out there.

4. No?
Yes, CNN over BBC.

I don't have regular acess to BBC. I don't know enough about BBC's programing to really be critical but the shows I've seen are nothing more than Headline News and CNN... except with accents. If I had a choice I'd still probably go to BBC, but that's not what I watch.

2. Lately, I'd say ABC or CBS.
But, as neither has a 24-hour network, I'd say CNN is the best of the rest. BBC is great, but I only get it once per evening on my PBS station.

3. BBC
is the best of the lot you mention. When I lived in NJ, we also had France2 every night at 7PM. Here in Vegas, the TV coverage sucks.

I've given up on domestic TV news and count on web sites like Le Monde, BBC News, DU and Smirking Chimp to stay informed.

5. I get my news online mostly
I read DU, Google News, and the LA times. We don't have cable and rarely I watch the BBC on PBS.

When the UK Guardian comes out with the US edition I'm going to subscribe!

I'm not a big tv watcher anyway and I seem to find the news much more depressing on TV

6. This won't help you...but our CBC or CTV or Global TV is absolutely
reliable for truthful reporting, here in Canada....What I've seen of BBC on their site on the internet is impressive also...As far as ANY of the American networks go....they are all just government propoganda, as far as I can see....Some a little better than others...Sorry, I don't mean to be insulting, but that's how it seems to me.

I've only watched CBC, but I wouldn't trust an Izzy Asper media property as far as a could through it, and CTV seems to be too mainstream.

9. Tough call
If I got the BBC on a regular basis, it would probably get the nod. But I don't so it's a toss up between ABC and BBC. The others aren't even in the running. Jennings is excellant but the BBC Governors aren't afraid to tell the Brit Gov to stick it in their eye. I guess my patriotism will shine through and I'll select Jennings. I can't think of better selection than to have someone that is a citizen of the USA that refuses to give up citizenship in Canada. Go Peter!

15. Trust???
Gave them all up after Selection 2000. Lost all respect for them all. Course I watched during 9/11 but the All Anthrax, All the Time clinched my decision for good.

I get all my news from the Internet, newspapers, magazines. I'm not (as) subjected to the obnoxious personalities, spin, etc.

16. Trust...?
I had about given up on the media, until Jennings decided to get some sack and start questioning the "nuke-yoo-ler" material from Africa lie that came out of Enron's Washington office.

CNN seems to be the least tainted with bias, but don't count ABC out yet...

Do you squirm when Dubya speaks? I do, but I didn’t really understand why until I read this piece by psychologist Renana Brooks.

20. that is an excellent article!
I always tell my friends that Dubya uses bumper sticker phrases to explain complex issues. He is so negative. He brings out the nation's fear, people like Howard Dean appeals to people's hope. Dubya is goin down!!!

This reminds me of a great Sharpton speech at a D.C. protest late last year, "There's no money for education, because the boogie man is comin'! No money for homeland security, because the boogie man is comin'! No money for health care, because the boogie man is comin'! Well I'll tell you somethin', I ain't afraid of no boogie man Mr. Bush!"

23. CBC or BBC
(CBC out of Canada if you didnt know).
Both are pretty 'liberal'.

In the US, I suppose I'd trust CBS or ABC the most, followed by CNN.

24. News Outlets
BBC wins going away. We get it every day on cable. Their anchors ask the hard questions and don't let anyone get away with spin. One of them had Rummy on the ropes a few weeks back. Made him admit to statements he had made that he was trying to deny. The anchor had the time and place he made these statements so he couldn't wiggle out of the truth. Also they report important news before the American outlets do. Love BBC.

25. depends
The only network news I'll usually watch is 60 Minutes.

I'll turn to CNN if I'm doing stuff around the house and want a quick glimpse of the headlines.

Mostly though, I stick with the Internet for news - particulary the BBC's live audio stream. There's just no matching their international coverage.

Of course if there's a major news event like 9/11 I'll watch the news almost non-stop.

26. BBC, CNN is just a bunch of cheap propaganda
Then again I have access to public stations from Germany and even Swizerland. They rule too. Public news beats corporate news hands down. That's why BBC kicks CNN's ass. I watch CNN to see what the Americans are being feed. I wish I could get Faux here in Germany. I miss seeing Simpsons and Futurama in English. Oh yeah and I've heard their news coverage is so pathetic it counts as humor too.

I've heard BBC will start sending to the states soon. I hope that's true!

I remember PBS was good back in the day. McNeil-Lehrer was pretty independent and high quality. They'd let people debate well, not like that crap you see on CNN.

27. If forced to turn on American "news" I would try CBS first
Fortunately, I can watch Canadian television, and I rank the CBC above the BBC. The BBC lost me with what I perceived as rah-rah propaganda during the Iraq invasion. Like many others here, I have completely given up on U.S. broadast and cable media.

CNN, BBC, DU, Washington Post, NY Times
From British newspapers I check out the Telegraph and the Guardian on the net.
On the net I try to get a variety of perspectives about everything--particularly in foreign affairs, both from conservatives and progressives, so I can make up my own mind.
I also like the Daily Show :)
