1. Why do we even have a media? All they do is lie. We may as well have the 24/7 programming
consist of "My Strange Addiction" and nothing else.

3. I thought the same also after reading the headline.
But I think the Title is wrong, the story was actually pretty good.

4. Ooh.
It's not evil, greedy, power-hungry billionaires who are destroying the world. It's Baby Boomers! Ha ha!

5. I'm not quite sure what they expect of boomers. They put in their time and paid their...
taxes, including social security. And they are getting out what the system says they should get out.

To say they are taking out more than they put in is true for any generation, as inflation requires payments to be greater than taxes paid.

12. Regardless of what she put in and what she took out, is she to "blame" for that?
The article attempts to put blame on boomers, as if they have done something wrong.

13. I wasn't "blaming" anyone, just making the point that The Boomers are
not at fault----others lived long past their life expectancy.

15. How? Unless she isn't a Baby Boomer, or was disabled? The very first of the Boomers
only just strted collecting Social Security this year.

16. She was the grandparent of Boomers. My point was that even other
generations often took out much more than they put in.

Most of her working years were for a municipality where she didn't pay into SS and then she lived to age 91.

Her SS was only about $200.00 per mo,but she collected for 26 years.

6. I saw it too, but what bothered me was the pic...
They showed someone defending SS to match the story. Yesterday the same place on the website had tea baggers pictured with a story more or less defending there position. I know it kinda fit, but my point is Tea Party with positive story, Average American with negative picture.

8. What? Why not blame the Greatest Generation for fucking too much.

Or, blame FDR for going to war and creating that "pent up" problem.

We didn't ask to be born.

9. If things were that simple, we could just take
all the money owed to Boomers from Social Security and apply it toward the debt.
