This tommy lee jones film is well done cinema, but there are some serious points left hanging.
The character played by TLJ is a military commando trainer (who is not "in" the military) who trains this rogue soldier who goes bonkers and kills buncha people.. (the plot thickens!) the old commando who trained him is called in to kill him!
THe film simply leaves out "why"... as if the public is so insensitized to having the military train and release killers in to our midst, that we only like the good fighting scenes.
The TLJ character has no moral problem with having given the tools to murder people to a bonkers nutter... that he has trained a terrorist who killed american civilians... that moral conundrum is buried with sweet imagery of a white wolf.
Sorry for ranting, but if you've seen this film, please share your thinking on its propaganda value at desenstizing a public to american terrorist training.
Perhaps its good, that people like me get really ticked off that such crap is tolerated... but methinks i'm not the average viewer.. and that the average simply sees training terrorists as the american way... normal and all that.
