10. Rhodes is a tool. I'm glad she's gone. The real solution is to replace Nancy with someone better,

not get Rhodes back. Seriously, Rhodes is a disgrace to equality and her nasally whine is just loathesome.

On top of that, when she moved into a new studio shortly before her latest disappearing act, we were able to hear quite clearly a producer telling her word-for-word what to say over her IFB. She's truly is a worthless tool.

As I said in that other thread...

I used to be a "right-winger" true enough. That was five years ago. I was a fundy Christian and lobbied with right wing organizations. In 2000 I was offered a job with the American Family Association.

Then I came out, was alienated by most of my family, the church and even some so-called progressives.

These days I lobby for things like marriage equality. I was in a state legislators office just yesterday. I'm the chairwoman for a very active and respected lefty lobbying and activist organization.

What do you do to support your fellow progressives, besides take shots at them on message boards?

See, I call bigotry as I see it. Rhodes is a bigot, and until she can own up to that fact, I don't support her. Dislike and discredit me for that all you want. She's on the air here where I live and quite frankly I have way more of a positive impact on legislation around here than she ever will.

Coming out and radically changing my views took time and cost me a lot. What has your position cost you? Anything? What do you do to promote Democratic ideals within government? Do you lobby? Education? Activism? ANYTHING other than sit behind a keyboard and listen to bigots on the radio?

Cost me? nothing, I've always been a liberal. I protested against reagan and both bushcos.

I'm a atheist. Strange I did go to a Catholic school for two years, but that's only because the baptist wouldn't accept me. I was "too liberal" for them. Until I brought up evolution at the Catholic school.

Randi Rhodes is the best liberal talk host in the afternoon.

6. Need the Goddess Back on the Air

I just joined, so I can't yet start a new thread here, but this is a general shout out especially to former RRMB members - does anyone know what the 411 is on getting her back on the air? Do we have to wait until her contract with NOVA M actually runs out before she can get back on the air or something? I think it's up in June, but save for Maddow and the Olbermensch, I feel totally adrift news wise right now. She absolutely rocks not just in terms of humor, but also in terms of detailed INFO.

You know, there's been a lot of blithering about Rush Limpballs debating Obama, but I tell you what I'd like to see, is Randi Rhodes debate Dick Cheney. I'd bet real money she could actually stop his blackened heart with the shear force of ACTUAL LOGIC (and a nice rack).

THAT I would pay money to see.
