Mort Kondracke is a spaz
Check out Faux when you get the chance and pay attention to the coverage they are giving to what happened in the green room between Mort and Madeleine Albright. For those of you who can't stomach it here's a brief synopsis.

Mort and Albright are waiting in the green room and Albright says to Mort something along the lines of'"I bet that the administration already has OBL in custody and they are going to trot him out for the election." Of course, she was joking, and she has issued a statement saying so. Anyway, Mort goes on Brit Hume's show and tells the audience that this is a sign of how unhinged democrats have all become blah, blah, blah over Sadadam being captured.

Seriously, watch it. I can't do this non-story any justice. He actually believes that she wasn't joking and he's very, very serious in that wonky, beltway establishment, dork kind of way. Hilarious.

4. He was disgusting.
He also was pumping up Dean, though, even while they brought up Dean's remark about 9-11 which was not a joke, and certainly odd since Dean backed off it later.

Freddie Barnes was dumping on everyone BUT Dean, too.

6. Gimme a break
Kondracke and Barnes teamed up on Dean's foreign policy speech, with Kondracke incredulously parsing sections of the speech to Brit Hume. It was a verbal Fisking. The whole "we aren't safer with Saddam's capture" was just the tip of the iceberg to how much these two showed their disdain for Dean.

Look, this whole "Dean is wanted by the Republicans" line is an old fascist idea. Read the Orcinus site (http://dneiwert.blogspot.com/) and you be able to see that this is the equivalent of Bush supporters saying Dems want Saddam to win, or of Tricky Dick's supporters saying McGovern was a commie symp, or of the Nazis saying that the libs and Jews were working with Germany's enemies. See, the rule for this propaganda is to try to tar your inner circle opponents as secretly or unknowingly working with your outer circle's opponent.

It is sickening and sad to see someone here happily working with these hoary group manipulation tools.

5. Great description --was he looking at Fred Barnes for approval?
They all do as soon as Britt asks a question (he even looks to see if Fred approves) they other two, Mort and the NPR lady, don't even look in the camera they actually look at Barnes as they answer to see if he approves.

Fair and balanced.

9. on Fox News Special Report, Kondracke and Krauthammer were
Yesterday, Howard Dean said he supports the death penalty for Usama bin Laden, after earlier in the day saying it's inappropriate for the executive branch to declare what sentence someone should get.

On Fox News Special Report, Kondracke and Krauthammer were discussing, how Howard Dean is supposedly AGAINST the death penalty for Usama bin Laden.

when they return from vacation, they've promised to deal with Kondracke about Albright.

I can't wait. The Howler will do a great job on it. :-)
