It's been about seven hours since the time that the news broke and the network anchors all got in to their studios looking in worse shape than the subject of their early-morning special reports.
Why is coverage of this arrest being treated like it's some kind of war-ending master stroke? Why do we have to have all the instant analysis and have our favorite programs preempted? I wanted to hear the rebroadcast of Al Franken on on my local NPR affiliate, but I have to listen to the umpteenth rebroadcast of "WE GOT HIM!"
I think I'll just turn it all off and wait for the day when those three words are laid upon the head of the man who illegitimately seized power in our own country.
Pundits and repugs everywhere leapt to their feet with fists raised shouting, "YES!" as if Saddam's capture somehow justifies the bad decision to invade Iraq. Not.
What about the guys who attacked this country? When al Queda is neutralized/captured then they'll have something to cheer about. Anything else is pure political spin-pandering.
