FOX premiers popular programs "Prison Break" and "Bones"
along with premier 2-hour episodes of other shows the week of the Republican Convention. During the Democratic Convention, they aired re-runs. Is this purely a bottom-line consideration, or a means of keeping audiences away from making qualitative comparisons between the Democratic and Republican Conventions?

1. Won't airing new shows draw attention away from the convention?

2. That's precisely my point, but why?
Do they believe that the Republican Convention will pale by comparison with the Democratic Convention and want to distract viewers, or are they just trying to get the jump on their competition by getting viewers hooked on programs for the rest of the season?

3. Dunno. Maybe they're dumber than we give them credit for.

4. As at any network, the bottom line at Fox rules. Also -- you might be surprised...
at the political views of Fox (Entertainment not News) folks, all the way up to Murdoch's right-hand guy. Like most in the entertainment industry, they're liberals and Democrats. And Murdoch is pretty hands-off when it comes to Fox Entertainment Network, as is evidenced by "The Simpsons," etc.

The info in your OP is very interesting!
