2. Three words: Cut and Paste
The NYT's little money making scheme here won't work. Will they really be able to police the entire internet to catch "copyright violators" who post columns online.

Anybody who buys a subscription to that is a sucker.

3. People don't read the newspaper on line.
They just look at individual articles on line. They will lose a lot of their on line readers and potential subscribers who read a little on line and decide they want more. How dumb!

I read this page about 4 times per week. If they charge, I'll read it 0 times per week.

They don't care. If just a few libraries sign up they come out ahead.

I think it's time for pure on-line sources to subplant these modifies fish wraps anyway.
