AP Wire service pretends any Bush problem has a Kerry equivalent
http://democrats.com/

A.merican P.ropaganda Campaign Coverage Pushes the 'Six of One Half Dozen of Another' Scam

The more Kerry speaks out, making the differences between him and Bush sharper by the day, the harder the corporate media - led by A.merican P.ropaganda (AP) - tries to blur the difference using a trick we call the "6 of one half-dozen of the other" scam. Examples: "Bush, Kerry campaigns twist each other's messages". The article tries to make the bogus case that Kerry is "just as bad"(LOL!) Or how about this one: "Bush, Kerry Economic Budgets Exceed $1 Trillion." Except the article doesn't mention that most of Kerry's funds go BACK into helping middle-income and poorer Americans, while Bush's budget ultimately takes money away from these groups Here's another: "Kerry, DNC follow Bush's Lead on Ads" Real story: Bush's bending of the campaign laws, to tap an extra $93 million forced Kerry to act in self defense. or "Kerry, Bush Terrorism Plans Similar." Yeah, right! What's really sneaky is that AP seeks to APPEAR to be covering Kerry more - while using Kerry pieces as "Bush vehicles."

1. I hear ya..
There has to be a way to get a new law that requires actual equality in journalism without the BS.

2. I've noticed that, too.
They can't say anything favorable about Kerry unless it's coupled with something REALLY BAD in REALLY BIG TYPE.

3. Right. It seems like....
this the way the media in general decided to deal with accusations of
Liberal bias.

God dammit! It makes me mad.

4. This is what "journalism" has become
They do these "he said, she said" stories, telling themselves that it makes the story "balanced." In other words, the lazy reporter can phone in the story without getting up from the crapper, and still make it to the Washington dinner party on time.

The problem is that is lends credibility to a completely discredited position. For example, in stories about global warming, these lazy writers still throw in the canard that it is "controversial" and include some ridiculous "opposing viewpoint" provided by "some scientists who dismiss global warming." The either don't know or simply don't include the fact that the "some scientists" consists of two or three industry shills (literally -- only two or three), and that in the serious scientific community, the reality of global warming is a closed matter.

If only these lazy slobs would either find a job more to their abilities (like Home Depot) or get up off the damn crapper and investigate the veracity of what's being fed to them.

Bartcop has a cartoon on his page today that shows a group of dinosaurs (labeled 'Network News') staring up into the sky as a huge meteor (labeled 'Internet') is hurtling down. It can't happen fast enough for me, especially if the dinosaurs were labeled 'mainstream news media.'
