WASHINGTON - Former Congressman Gary Condit has settled the multimillion-dollar libel lawsuit he filed against three tabloid newspapers he says ruined his reputation in their reporting of his involvement with slaying victim Chandra Levy.
In an agreement quietly filed with a Florida court, Condit and the publisher of the National Enquirer, Globe and Star newspapers ended the case in which Condit had originally sought $209 million.

Dunne is now the sole remaining target of a Condit defamation lawsuit, stemming from speculation Dunne offered about the case. Dunne and Condit are scheduled to be deposed the last week of September, with attorneys for both sides saying they're eager to get rolling.
