Some excellent Kucinich websites & info....
Edited on Mon Jul-07-03 12:40 AM by Desertrose
Received this & wanted to share....

Hello Friends of Dennis!

I am writing to let you know of several web sites I have discovered which are invaluable for your organizing and communication efforts during this campaign. They have been created by volunteers who support Dennis in various ways.

As you are already aware, tremendous momentum has been gained recently as a result of Dennis' strong and hard-won second-place finish in the MoveOn.org Online Primary. As a result, all across the country hundreds of volunteers are joining Dennis' campaign as new creative ideas for fundraising and for raising public awareness of the campaign are being undertaken.

As you encounter the enthusiasm of these new volunteers, you can make them aware of these web sites.

Here are a few of these sites with brief descriptions.

This is a group to support Congressman Dennis Kucinich to become the next President of the United States.

Discussion, analysis, and news related to the Kucinich campaign is welcome. Let's become part of the grassroots movement to make this happen!

5. Need some help
I am wondering if someone can help. After thirty years I need to refresh the ever graying matter upstairs. It nags me that perhaps I may have met Kucinich at a Catholic Retreat House in Michigan in the summer of '72? The person was short, dark haired, and with a mustache and accompanied by a large Ed Mcmahon type of aide. he was great friends with the people running the house. Does anyone have a photo from that period?

Please mail me something on that.

15. Thanks
I was SURE it was a Republican anyway, someone high up in Mayor Perk's office, but maybe it was Perk himself, although he seemed too young. Definitely swoolen Repuke head that caused the retreat master to chew him out personally about selling out big time. As the memory clarifies I am glad it wasn't Dennis at least.

6. Great information

This is the only guy I truly trust. I have moved from the "I love DK, but he won't win so I wont support him" camp to the "maybe it is f***** possible" camp.

I'm sick of these other guys who are pro-war mongering, pro death penalty, against ANY form of federal gun control, etc...

Let's run a real Democrat. If we lose, then so be it. Let's go down with our principles if that's the case. If we win? America is saved.

9. Sgt knuckles....
I was so tempted to post on the Dean threads...but thought what purpose would it serve other than to push people apart...

I could make a comment about how so many people for Dean seem to feel the need to bash other candidates...but again...where's the point??

You like Dean...thats fine...but don't bash DK supporters to make your man look better or make yourself feel better...its really not necessary.

we need to try to come to a point of accepting and working together...posts like yours trivializing another candidate are really a waste of time...everyone's.

Peace
DR

PS with your attitude I doubt your website would interst me ....

10. you're missing the point....
that point being a comment on the URL of a DK website. I started wewantdean.com about 4 months ago. Whoever started up wewantkucinich.com should have instead chosen godennisgo.com being that is what is chanted for Kucinich at the rallies. I'm not trivializing DK, I'm simply pointing out a better domain name. I doubt you would like my site anyway if you're a kucinich supporter - being that it's a site about Howard Dean...

12. Feminists for Kucinich
...and I just received this in my inbox. Please spread far and wide!

"Feminists for Kucinich"

For Immediate Release

The Kucinich for President Campaign takes a big step forward today with the announcement of "Feminists for Kucinich." Eight diverse feminist writers and organizers have initiated a statement in support of Kucinich, which will be widely circulated to attract new supporters.

The original signers are:
BARBARA EHRENREICH, political essayist and author ("Nickel and Dimed"); ANGELA GILLIAM, professor and expert on Black feminist anthropology; YNESTRA KING, writer and activist on environmental, feminist, and disability issues; GAIL LERNER, organizer in the global women's movement and with U.N. agencies; GRACE PALEY, peace activist and author ("Enormous Changes at the Last Minute"); ROSALIND PETCHESKY, international feminist activist and political science professor; DIGNA SANCHEZ, Latina community activist in New York; MEREDITH TAX, novelist, essayist and international organizer of feminist writers.

Although the statement has just started to circulate, it has already attracted signatures from such prominent feminists as BLANCHE WEISEN COOK, biographer of Eleanor Roosevelt; MARILYN FRENCH, author of "The Women's Room"; actress and singer RONNIE GILBERT; Jewish activist and poet IRENA KLEPFISZ; and political scientist ZILLAH EISENSTEIN.

Here is a summary of the statement.

FEMINISTS FOR KUCINICH
Rather than waiting to hear what all the Democratic candidates have to say, then jumping on the bandwagon of the least offensive, we decided to make our own list of priorities and see who agrees with us.

1) We want a candidate who will stop the war on the poor. 2) We want a candidate who stands for peace, respects international treaties and institutions such as the U.N. and the International Criminal Court, and tries to resolve problems through negotiation. 3) We want a candidate who will defend the separation of church and state, and the individual rights guaranteed us by the Constitution.

4) We want a candidate who opposes discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, and who stands for women's reproductive rights and recognizes that these rights depend on universal health insurance. 5) We want a candidate who will address questions of global economic imbalance and stand up for the rights of immigrants. 6) We want a candidate who will challenge racism domestically and internationally.

Dennis Kucinich is the only candidate who not only agrees with all these points but has developed policies to support them: starting a cabinet-level Department of Peace; supporting unions and the right to organize; cutting the bloated military budget; restoring environmental regulations and launching a "Global Green Deal" to benefit developing countries; withdrawing from NAFTA and the WTO and challenging IMF/World Bank policies; repealing the "Patriot Act"; upholding Roe v. Wade; working for universal health insurance; and abolishing the racially and economically biased death penalty.

Because we feel that he comes closest to representing our priorities, we have decided to support Dennis Kucinich for President.

Fantastic to see all of these ladies getting on board!
